Master Nam started his own dojang, Unity Taekwondo, in Abbotsford. He is utterly excited to share his knowledge and the passion of Taekwondo to his students, and to contribute as a positive part of the community.
During his time as Head Master at one of the most successful dojang in Canada, Master Nam has had the opportunity to instil life-changing experiences, self-confidence, and the passion of martial art to his diverse range of students. The seven years of dedication and challenges as a teacher have provided the foundation for him to cultivate his philosophy and values in shaping Unity Taekwondo.
Master Nam has had the honour of teaching in Indonesia's Military Education Command. His primary responsibility was to train and develop martial arts instructors, contributing significantly to the advancement of martial arts in Indonesia's Armed Forces during that time. He also successfully led martial arts demonstrations at significant events all around Indonesia.
Master Nam's first teaching experience in Canada has got him fell in love with the country. It opened his eyes to the potential of martial arts in delivering positive values that can impact someone in their daily lives.
Master Nam earned his Bachelor's Degree in Sports and Physical Education from Youngdong University in South Korea. Although he had been practicing martial arts since very young, his time in university broadened his perspective and martial arts skills by exposing him to various disciplines.
Thanks to his family's support and encouragement, Master Nam embarked his journey in martial arts at a young age. This marked the beginning of this long martial arts adventure, providing him with an opportunity to master Hapkido alongside Taekwondo.
